Kathleen Ahrens is a Professor and the Director of the International Writers’ Workshop at Hong Baptist University. She also serves as the International Regional Advisor Chairperson and as a member of the Board of Advisors for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Angela Cerrito SCBWI Assistant International Advisor & SCBWI Bologna Co-organizer
Angela Cerrito serves as SCBWI’s Assistant International Advisor. Her novel, THE SAFEST LIE (Holiday House / Fall 2015) is based on her research in Warsaw, Poland, including interviewing Irena Sendler, a mastermind spy and member of the Polish resistance who helped over 2,500 children escape the Warsaw ghetto. This research was made possible by SCBWI’s Kimberly Colen Memorial Grant. Angela’s debut novel, THE END OF THE LINE (Holiday House, 2011) about a boy coming to terms with his role in the death of his friend received many awards including: VOYA Top of the Top Shelf 2011, VOYA Top Shelf for Middle Grade Readers 2011, YALSA Quick Pick 2012, Winchester Fiction Award Honor Book 2012 and a Top Teen Pick 2012. www.angelacerrito.com
Susan Eaddy Midsouth Regional Advisor & Bologna Showcase Designer
Susan Eaddy works in her attic studio writing picture books and playing with clay. She was an Art Director for fifteen years, and won international 3D illustration awards and a Grammy nomination. Her clay-illustrated trade books include, My Love for You is the Sun by Julie Hedlund and Papa Fish’s Lullaby by Patricia Hubbell. Her clay artwork appears regularly in Babybug, Ladybug, Click and Spider Magazines. She lives in Nashville, TN and is the author of Poppy’s Best Paper. Christopher Cheng holds a Master of Arts (Children's Literature) and is a full time author writing fiction (including historical fiction), picture books and non-fiction titles. He is co-chair for the Advisory Board of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and a member of the Advisory Board for the Asian Festival of Children's' Content (AFCC). Christopher is also a director of Sparklight, a digital publishing company.
In 2014 Christopher was an Australia Day Ambassador. He is a popular speaker, panellist and presenter for children and adults presenting at Australian and American Universities on Australian Children's Literature, as well as being a regular guest at book fairs, libraries, schools and children's book events around Australia. He often appears in the print media and on television and radio and hosted and MC'd many children's literature functions. The picture books Sounds Spooky (illus. by Sarah Davis, see www.sounds-spooky.com), Python (illus. by Mark Jackson) and Water (ilustrated by Susannah Go-Ho Quek) are his latest titles.
