Agents at the First Pages Panel in 2008

There are a limited number of First Pages slots still available.

Writers are invited to submit their best first page of a manuscript by March 15, 2010 to be read and commented on by our panel of agents. Authors will remain anonymous.

Your first page must be formatted according to publishing tradition. In the top right-hand corner list the genre (Picture Book, Chapter Book, Middle-grade novel, Young-adult novel) and word count of the total manuscript. The title is given in capital letters half-way down in the middle of the page, and then the beginning of the manuscript runs from below the title until one inch from the bottom of the page. Use Times New Roman font, size 12, and double-space (approximately 100-15- words will fit in the space.) One-inch margins are needed all around. No identifying information should be given at all. (Please see "From Keyboard to Printed Page: Facts You Should Know" on the SCBWI publications page)

Please send your formatted first page as a .doc or .rtf attachment by March 15, 2010.

Please note that we will try and read as many submissions out loud as possible for response from the agents at the event, but cannot guarantee all submissions will be read. Pages will only be accepted via email and only with the proper formatting. Only one submission will be accepted per registered Bologna participant. No submissions will be accepted after March 15, 2010.
